Armed Forces Staff College, an educational institution under the direction of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It is a component of the National Defense University. The college prepares officers for assignments to commands in which more than one military service or forces of more than one nation are involved. Its students are selected officers from all the armed forces. The college was established in 1946 in Norfolk, Virginia.
